Sydney, Australia in 4 Days – the perfect itinerary

    August 24, 2020 / 0 Comments

I loved Sydney more than I expected. So much so, that I felt a weird homesickness when returning to the UK. It was something about the lifestyle here. Sydney is a mix of buzzing, cosmopolitan city with the laid back beach vibes you would expect from Australia. Four days in Sydney felt rushed and I could have easily spent a few more exploring its various areas and spending more time relaxing at the beach. But it’s enough time to see the highlights. Here’s how to spend 4 days in Sydney. Disclosure: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, and at no additional cost to you, I earn…

    Guide to Byron Bay, Australia

    July 27, 2020 / 0 Comments

Byron Bay is a beach town in New South Wales, Australia known for gorgeous beaches, outdoor activities, cute cafes and healthy restaurants. It is a bit of a backpacker’s paradise meets hippie hangout with gentrification seeping through its edges. That description probably makes you want to stay far away doesn’t it? So why did I end up loving it so much when I visited in November? I arrived one afternoon off the Greyhound Bus from Coolangatta, ready to soak up some more sunshine and great beaches. The town is located just two hours down the coast from the Gold Coast. I spent about 5 days total here. Originally, I was…

    Exploring the Gold Coast, Australia

    July 16, 2020 / 1 Comment

After a few days in Brisbane, I left Queensland’s capital behind and headed south in search of beautiful beaches. The Gold Coast stretches just south of Brisbane from Surfer’s Paradise, the metropolitan area Gold Coast, down through Currumbin and ending at the border between Coolangatta and Tweeds Heads. I skipped the first part of the coast. It was far too touristy for my taste, too many resorts and theme parks. The whole area is popular with both Australians and tourists from farther abroad, and it’s not hard to see why. I concentrated my time in the southern suburbs of the 70km of coastline. I spent the next few days exploring…

    48 hours in Brisbane Australia

    March 10, 2020 / 3 Comments

Brisbane was a really special place for me to visit. My mom grew up on the outskirts of Brisbane and I was looking forward to finally seeing a place I’d heard about since I was a kid. I decided to spend about 48 hours in Brisbane Australia exploring and visiting with family. I arrived off an 8-hour flight from Singapore, part of which I spent looking at the window as the plane passed over the reddish desert below. After getting my Aussie SIM card, I boarded a train from the airport to Roma Street. Stepping out of the station, the smell of Jacaranda blossoms hung in the balmy air. I…

A Guide for Staying in St Paul’s Bay, Malta

    February 17, 2020 / 1 Comment

We ended our week long trip to Malta by spending three nights in St Paul’s Bay. Located in the Northern region of the main island of Malta, this bay area is a place of relaxation in the sunshine and leisurely walks around the bay. It’s a bit quieter and less touristy than some of the surrounding towns such as Bugibba. But best of all, St. Paul’s Bay quite central to the rest of Malta and in my opinion a good spot to base yourself for exploring the islands.
