    Hue is a city steeped in history and a must-see on a Vietnam itinerary. Our journey through the central region brought us north from Da Nang to Hue (pronounced hway), once the capital of Vietnam. We arrived after a tour of some of the surrounding regional sites and the next morning set about exploring. The Imperial City is the main draw to visiting Hue, an expansive UNESCO World Heritage Site protected by walls and moats, facing the Perfume River to the south.
