    There’s plenty to know before visiting the Vatican City. The Vatican City is the world’s smallest country, surrounded by Rome. It’s only 44 hectares and is home to a mere 1,000 residents, that’s less than the number of people that can fit on a London tube train. In addition to being the seat of the Roman Catholic Church, the city-state attracts millions of tourists each year to view its artistic masterpieces.     We rounded off our recent tour around Italy in the Eternal City, Rome.  Despite the incredible history, and how, for lack of a better word, “romanticised” this city is, it was not one that was particularly high on my list of dream destinations.  I’d heard about pickpocketers, some dodgy doings around Termini station, and the immense crowds of tourists.
